Synthecology Screen Capture

Synthecology

Synthecology combines the possibilities of tele-immersive collaboration with a new architecture for virtual reality sound immersion to create a environment where musicians from all locations can interactively perform and create sonic environments.  Synthecology was created for the WIRED NEXTFEST2005 in Chicago, June 24-26, 2005.

Special Treatment Screen Capture

Special Treatment

Special Treatment is a virtual reality installation piece that uses the Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp as the setting to explore the concepts of persistence and memory. In contrast to traditional art media, Special Treatment is experienced, rather than viewed. In the experience, the participant can navigate around the camp of their own free will and, through a mixture of memories, both historical and contemporary, engage thematic aspects of what the camp was like during its initial existence and recollections of the camp in the modern day.Special Treatment premiered at the art(n) Gallery on January 7, 2005.
